Antonia's Lofaso invites you to explore her inner world by the food she cooks. Food that she cooks is a source of fascination that grew from moving beyond the outskirts of Long Island and into the multi-cultural environment that is Los Angeles. Inspired by her heritage as an Italian-American, Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. Lofaso has been praised for her interpretation of traditional Italian food. Lofaso is described by a lot of people as a local favorite who consistently delivers meals that are delicious, authentic and welcoming. Lofaso was trained by renowned chefs to learn their refined techniques. However, she was not afraid to make extraordinary decisions to honour her instincts. She soon rose to the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago before moving further to collaborate with famous chefs in a variety of Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in the year 2011. Through Black Market and the business alliances she created, Lofaso was able to find her home. Lofaso could finally enjoy the creative freedom she wanted. Black Market is not constrained by one definitive direction and that's the goal. It could start with dill potatoes chips Shishito chilies, and proceed to the Korean chicken dish, meatballs and wings. Her talents continue to shine in front of the camera as a judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup and recurring role on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child and ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso teamed up with Penguin at the end of 2012 in order to launch The Busy Mother's Cookbook, 100 Recipes for Delicious home-cooked Meals. This book also describes the obstacles she faced while studying at the French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea.
