Awkwafina
Awkwafina the American performer and actress, started by releasing witty raps which addressed sexuality and racial identification. After which she moved into Hollywood, she released an album of rap songs. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was with the trumpet. She also received the classical and jazz education later when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. In college she studied journalism and women's studies. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she graduated. The track she released in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or her wink-inducing hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter was associated with Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Once she had established herself as a performer and author, she decided to take on the role of actor. As well as early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2 Storks and Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018 when she appeared in a number of notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
